To My Other Half

‘To My Other Half’

Drifting through this dark and dreary world,

A longing that is so ancient, and so Grecian,

Sole company, in my heart forever unfurled:

Love is a feeling striving for self-completion.

For one life lived through the life of another,

Together with a desire for self-determination,

It is indeed via the power of difference rather,

That love and love alone is a life of unification.

And self-surrender brings me self-realization.

Love works her charm on our physical division,

My love is distant, lightening a faraway nation.

But love unites, binding together our scission.

My love is my mirror and the echo of my existence.

My love runs deep, between us there is no distance.
